Aeroplane fall down how?

i wanted to motivate my daughter by telling her that i will be bringing her to BKK on coming December so that she would behave herself these 2 weeks and also make her promise that she would not mis-behave while we are there. she gave me her word and her last finger and ensured me that she would not unneccesarily kick up a fuss! (e.g. "i want 100+", "i want jut-jut", "i want mami carry" etc...). How i told her?

Mami: "Renee, mami and babee is going to bring you to Bangkok on my birthday ok, we will fly there by aeroplane with a.joanne, a.audrey, u.jeff, u.billy...(then Renee interupted)

Renee: "...with Rayern, Lauren, ying-ying, Rada (Jada), Belen ok"

Mami: "but ying-ying beat you wo, you still want her to come? (testing her loyalty to friends)

Renee: "hmmmm....nevermind la, she can also come with Rayern, Lauren, Rada, a.joanne, a.audrey...(recited all the names again, then...) "mami we cho-cho aeroplane go Bangkok ah? we sing Happy Birthday to... (thought to me right? think again) Aeroplane, Happy Birthday to Aeroplane...

Mami: "No Renee, its mami's birthday not the aeroplanes!

Renee: (Out of no where) "Mami i don't want to sit aeroplane la after fall down how?

Mami: (*sigh*) "choi, choi, choi" (no la, didn't say that la) toooooouuuuccccch wood NOW!!!!!

Both mami and renee hugged each other and sang HB song, then made her promise that she would behave herself...

The Secret Recipe of La Manilla

i got home from work to find both my sweeties at the porch of the house taking turns to go out for their daily evening walks. Reeve has just returned from his walk and now Renee is preparing to go for hers together with Chickpea (our golden retriever) and Kakak Dilah. I brought Reeve in to bath him and changed him in to fresh clothing. But just before that, he stood by the bed and peek-a-booed with babee for a fair bit before he willingly "walked" out of the room to bath. Reeve smiles so much when babee is around, if babee were to ignore him, he will try his level best to make funny faces and sounds to attract his attention then smile cheekily/broadly to sustain that attention...

Renee came back from the walk and wanted to follow us to MV, but i told her that she cannot as ah-ku would like to bring her to the church to play with the children there, so she would better follow him. Initialy she refused and kicked a fuss but eventually she gave in obediently and waived/kissed us goodbye. such a darling! we walked in MV for a bit, mami brought Reeve to different stores to search for a lingerie for a.sharon, she is getting married soon, so we all thought that it would be good to present her with something "kinky"...but i could not find anything nice.

Received a call from a.AM - "Audrey ask go yum cha wo"..."ok lor" ..."La Manilla T.T.D.I hou mou?" We brought Reeve back home for kakak and left for T.T.D.I. but when we arrived, we saw the 10am-9pm sign outside, so decided to go Secret Recipe instead. we chatted and joked for a while, discussed about BKK again and finally adjourned back home. BTW, the cake at LM is much better than SR.

At home Renee came to me and repeated this:-

Renee: "Mami say cannot follow to Mid Valley ah...sailo and babee and mami go only lo"

Mami: "why cannot follow?"

Renee: "because ah-ku bring me and Mann-Mann jeje go church lo"

Mami: "so were you happy in the church with your small friends?"

Renee: "ngmmm! (nodded) i play with ko-ko Jason my boyfriend lo"

Mami: "hah?" you have boyfriend already? how come? (MM at the side - "you know jason and the rest of the boys keep carrying her and saying that she is cute")

Renee: (smiled cunningly and used hands to cover mouth) "no la mami, MM's boyfriend la...hahahahahaha (MM by the side - "hou chee 8-poh kum ah")

my WALKING boy!

Reeve - you took a 2-3 step walk in a.sandy's house, at a.audrey's you walked for a good 7-8 steps from the sofa to the bar area, until you could not lift your feet nomore, you dropped on the floor only to regain your strength. Again your tired self stood up and venture into a step further, for each step you took, mami may not be holding or applauding you but i was definitely praising and admiring you from afar. (27th Nov 2005)

Renee - you made your debut exactly on your 13th month (27th Feb 2004). we were at mah-mah's house in Melaka when you stood up and gave us a 7-8 step brisk walk as well. how can i forget these special dates?...i was so proud of you my sugar! Yor are my PRIDE and now sailo is my JOY!

Pork Leg Vinegar Sunday

you denotes - Renee

it is customary for the mother in confinement to serve "chu keok cho" (pork leg vinegar) on the 12th day after her deliveries. in this case, aunty sandy had invited us to savor this delicious dish on Sunday. there were many people there already when we arrived. you were about to sleep but when you heard the voices of Davin and Darren, you just shot up and got down. Sailo too was too busy with the boys and neglected his own sleep. a.christine handed out her hand-made wedding cards to all, lovely red and could not tell that it was hand made, just looked so perfect.

aunty Sandy brought down the newborn (no name yet), he has lost a bit of weight but still quite chubby. we had a fun-filled lunch, full of laughter, jokes and profanity. i watched you kiddos from time to time and you were so busy taking turns on the bike with Davin, while sailo were walking 2 steps at eack time, max 3. Davin had grown into such a macho boy now, due to the influence of the younger brother. he is no longer that timid, braver and more solid. both Rayern and sailo were busy mingling in their own language, they exchanged toys and were both watching Lauren when she drank her milk. it is such a joy to see so many kids together especially when they are of the same age group.

shortly after 4pm, sailo was put to sleep in the living room while you, lauren and Rayern followed a. audrey back to her apartment for a swim. i wanted to bring him along, but he has just recovered from a bad viral cough, so on second thoughts, NOPE!

in the pool, you were making so much of noise, i asked you to tone down, you immediately said "ok, ok, sorry ah" just like an old lady. i pushed RE around the pool and you too wanted to do that, so i gave you the opportunity to serve your hubby-to-be from young. lauren is such a well-behaved baby, she is always quiet, calm and obedient. not a sound from her at the pool. you wanted to pee, so i brought you up to the shower area to, you turned to look at everyone around you and then asked:- "mami, shee-shee her ah? so many people see me, how?" "i don't want la..."

we swam for about 30mins and retired to the apartment while the daddies played badminton. a.audrey fed lauren her puree and when sailo saw he quickly "walked" over from 7 meters away to have a taste, poor lauren had to share half her meal with sailo, he refused to move away from the table until he finished her puree and dessert! while waiting for the feed, he played peek-a-boo with a.audrey from behind the chairs and table legs. (i will entertain you, my mother-in-law as long as you promise to give me your puree, dessert and your daughter...ke ke ke ke...)

all 3 mothers were so busy watching their kids and comparing their traits. you were so sweet to lauren and RE, you would rather share toys with him than your own sailo. when sailo grabbed RE's shirt, RE would quickly turn to hug you and in return you shielded him tightly too as a sign of "you are being protected". what a sight!

when lauren was asleep, you sat next to her, touched her face and kissed her forehead. when RE and lauren was tired, you diverted your concentration to sailo once again. peek-a-boo and cathing...you just have so much of energy and its amazing how they don't get burn out?

weird sleeping patterns

whenever we sleep together, i will never be able to get a good night sleep because you will always pushed yourself against me to the fullest. when i mentally measure my sleeping space, it works out to be approximately 45cm only. i will place you back to your spot and within minutes you will find your way to my shoulder again. not only that you enjoy sleeping close to me, you also like to hook your leg around my waist to ensure my presence. Mami will not run away from you sweetheart....

this morning i woke up tired again, i did not sleep with you but i slept with sailo. i don't sleep together with sailo often on our bed because i prefer him to sleep on his own bed. last night babee flew off to BKK again, so i spent the night with sailo watching Monster-In-Law (while you were out). he dozed off on our bed so i did not move him. between 10pm to 7am this morning, i was squashed and pushed to the edge of the bed several times until i had to re-place him back to his spot by using several bolsters to guide his pattern. at 7am this morning, again he came really close to me comfortably and conveniently tucked his bo-tak head between my neck...

at 3am - his bud was sticking up (kneeling) while body and face was down on pillow..
at 4.55am - head and hands on my tummy and body was vertical pointing the other way..
close to dawn - body standing by the side of bed, but hands and head was resting on top of the bed, stand sleeping?

*sigh*....boy, how is mami suppose to get a good rest if you are going to somersault, sleep vertically or best of all stand sleep?

a Monster came into my dream

this morning as i was at work, my precious daughter called me and said:-

Renee: "Mami, i cry cry, you die already...mami...you berdarah and die..."
Mami: (couldn't understand much as she was fast and shaky)..."ok, darling, really?"
AMD: "she said she dreamt that you were bleeding on the mouth and died...you better do some chanting" "she cried so much this morning, finally woke up and told us what happened"

Mami: (so touched and chanted while mum was still talking) "How does she understand what is dying all about?"
AMD: "ho cham ah kui ke yeong" "ham toh min sup sai" (very kesian her face, cry until face all wet)

after i hung up, i placed both my palms together - sincerely + full heartedly chanted "Nam Myo Ho Renge-Kyo" I asked GOHONZON to let me live long and let all that are in my family to live long too and lastly to all those that i know and not know out there to live long. to keep both my children and immediate family members out of any harm and allow me to see Renee's kids and my grandchildren...

i told babee last night that i may not want to bring Renee to Bangkok on the 15th of Dec together with all the aunties and uncles, he said "ok". but now after hearing this, i can't wait to spend another minute with her...i wouldn't consider any moments without her in my life!!! i want her to be apart of whatever i do wherever we are...(accept drinking and smoking) i cannot imagine myself not having them in my life and vice versa...

SAILO or SILO?

babee and i were at MV shopping for an overnight luggage bag when the phone rang and:-

Yap: "Silo tilted"
Babee: "Silo tilted? Oh shit! Head down or leg down? How now?
Mami: (grabbed babee's shirt, looked very worried and then asked) - what happened? who is calling? How is he?

Yap: "Tilted and about to collapse..."
Babee: "Oh but didn't collapse la, so he is ok la is it? get some men over la..."
Mami: (by then, my eyes was about to tear, jaws dropped and speechless) - is he ok?

Babee: Not your Sailo la, my Silo la....aiyaaaa....(returned to his conversation) my wife thought my son fell down la...aiyaaa...
Mami: "Damit!!! don't you ever scare me like that anymore, wana speak dont use stupid technical jargons la, what the f**k is a sailo anyway? got such word ah?" (took a deep breath, relieved but still shock over the dumb interpretation)
Babee: (got off the phone) aiyaa...it is S.I.L.O la (tower or airtight structure in which cement are stored) the 2 rocket looking thing ah!!! why you so stupid ah? how to be my wife?

Well by then the shock was recovering so i knocked his head, jumped on him and swallowed my saliva several times. I thank god that it was my stupidity and not what i thought it was. he was still laughing at me after an hour, i later joined in the laugh as i was relieved that it was just a joke...a good joke indeed...orelse...i will not be able to imagine the consequenses...

music to his ears?

a.AM had pre-scheduled for a music class for all kiddos below 18 mths old. so today is the day we all attend this at Ikano. But before that a.AM, a.audrey and uncle jeff had met up at Hometown for lunch. you were so busy pulling Lauren's fingers and "ooohhhhh-ahhhhhh ing" away with her. The balded Rayern tried poking your body with his tiny fingers, you smiled and did the same to him. it was such a pleasure to see you babies communicating, as 1 is known for being LCLY and the other does not know what SMILING is all about!

Rayern had a bandena on his head the entire time, his parents thinks it is because he knows his bald head does not compliment him...perhaps? after a short while, i could see signs of boredom on you, so i pushed you in to the complex, you have always enjoyed the air-cond (who doesn't) and window shopping. we went to FOS to get you and je-je a Paul Frank t-shirt, i wanted to get an identical one for both you and her, but they only have the one in red for je-je. No worries ok...mami will be on a mission to get the black one for you!

the aunties asked why Paul Frank with a monkey face? i replied: "Reneeisa....????monkey!!! my MSN id...hahahahaa

at the music class...
all mothers and babies were made to sit in a circle. then Cheryl the teacher would sing and we will have to fling you babies from one side to another or make "joo-joo" train sound to catch your attention. it lasted for 45 mins, you were already exhausted after half an hour but managed to be entertained right through. you rubbed your eyes and i knew it was bed time! we watched jada wobbled all over the room and Rayern crawled to his kakak. Lauren was patient and well-behaved, Zoe was like you - quiet but still inquisitive.

after the music class, mami put you in the pram, you cried at first but when we went in to the FOS at IKANO just to take a quick search for the PF t-shirt, you were all your cheerful self again, pulling clothes off the rack, turning heads from left to right...i think you are going to be a shopper just like your dad when you grow up. No PF for you again my boy...we went down to DOME for snacks and i tried pushing you in the pram to sleep, but there was just too much of distractions, so i placed you on my chest, slanted my body and "berdebarp" you zonked out within minutes while all your other friends were still wide awake.

the very nice a.audrey drove us home, in the car - you did not bother playing with Lauren, i don't understand why? a.audrey said at this age you babies are self-centered and not bothered with people around you at all... ok something new to ponder about...

at 7pm we left for the airport to pick up "kung-kung" (ngau lai or milk kung-kung from HK). i brought you along together with KK's favorite girl - jeje. KK just took a quick peep at you while you were asleep and returned his focus to je-je. the entire journey, je-je was singing to him and he presented her with chocolates, shoes, some Hello Kitty goods and he also whispered to her some Guess products tomorrow at MV...off course i interupted and said no more clothes and presents!!! Poor boy Reeve...KK and all others always prefer je-je to be in their company than you, that is why mami will always pay more attention to you than je-je as i know she is in the limelight eversince she was born! Don't worry ok, you will grow to be a strong and supportive boy.

in the car, on the way back to Melaka:-

Renee: Mami, you bring sailo's pram go back Melaka ah? (its actually a trolley walker, but she calls it a pram)
Mami: Ya, darling
Renee: After Marcus take and play how?
Mami: Nevermind, you share with him ok, just like how he shares his toys with you
Renee: Cannot!!!, i tell him, cannot take my brother's things ha! (pat on Reeve's head and said, saiiiilo....je-je scold Marcus for you ha, cannot take your things ok)
Mami: ignored both and continue to recuperate from last night's hang over, over Long Island Tea???

reached Melaka, mah-mah was in the kitchen busy preparing for Popiah lunch, for dinner she was already boiling Ox-Tail Soup, baking Chicken Stew and Sherpards pie. I assisted her in that till 3pm and dropped everything off to visit lil' Michelle Yap in Mahkota Hosp. i left Reeve behind to entertain the Yap ah kung and Yap Mah-mah, while je-je followed me to see the newborn. in the car both Marcus and je-je was fighting over Sugus and Ribena. when i scolded Marcus for being difficult (pura-pura), je-je got angry with me!

we got to the hospital and Marcus introduced us his lil' sister, je-je was so excited and kept asking me to carry her higher to see the baby. i asked if she wanted another baby, she replied "ha" (as to approving) and then "i want sailo only la...don wan already la..."

Michelle has a protruding forehead, she weighs slightly heavier than Renee and looks a bit like "ang mo" (caucasian)...so pretty. her head's circumference is 34cm wide, that is bigger than Reeve's!

left the hospital to return home to find Reeve down with cough, i realised the night before that Renee was coughing, but just did not guess it will get to him so fast...hai...headache! dinner was excellent, all the grand aunties/grand uncles and other cousins also came over for the gathering. they commented that je-je bullies Marcus all the time and he is such a timid boy ...so cham. as for Reeve, you showed off to the visitors your walking skills, you kept on walking from one sofa to another, then you would push the trolley walker from the kitchen to the living area... walked so much while coughing, they said you look like an old man...like ah kung wo..you chucckled! both you babies had so much of fun and praises from everyone...mami is glad that you two enjoyed yourselves.

babee told mah-mah that Reeve will be back to Melaka sometime end of this month to stay for 3 weeks, she welcomed him with an rresistable kiss. ah kung carried Reeve and pushed Renee on the bicycle around the neighbourhood showing them to the neighbours and watching birds in the sky and later return to bring Marcus out for a walk, next year he will have to do 2 rounds of each when Michelle is older...hahaha

we left early for KL the next morning as mami wanted to get back early to go for my massage and attend Daniel's 3rd birthday...

A gift from a Friend

i did not plan to write anything today as you kiddos were not around last night so i spent the entire night at Pantai, then dinner and coffee with u.billy, a.audrey, a.julie, u.simon, u.jeff, a.AM, a.desi and u.gary. we chatted obliviously till 11pm because it has been so long since we all had a chance to sit down to rewind our reminiscence. Fruitful Night...

this morning, i got in to work as usual and started checking my mails...i saw a mail from "Sue"- Something for Renee's mami. instinctively i clicked on it and this picture popped up on my screen - Ohhh!!! so sweet, she had created this for me, knowing the fact that mami is practically IT illeterate and also due to the fact that each time i see her with a new picture of Ivan, i always praise and drool over it. Cheeky Sue, you hit me by surprise again...

thank you, thank you!!! i owe you 2 bottles of SAKE ok!!!

on 28th of Oct, sugar was exactly 34 months and 1 day old...so energetic, so agile and so pretty...love you sweety

another YAP fresh from another oven!

these parents must have all made love during CNY or before Valentines' Day in order for them to have delivered these oven hot babies all in a trail!!!

this morning i received an sms from my brother in law - Martin that his Michelle Yap has also arrived at the same time as Johnny's son only 1 day later. she weighs 3.3kg.

these 2 Yaps are both actually due on the same date - 22nd November, but both had to schedule for a c-sec due to some complications. so here we are! WELCOME MICHELLE to our family!

now, Renee and Reeve, i have gained another niece and you two have gained another cousin...she too, looks exactly like uncle Martin and cousin Marcus (Marcus's picture is posted in "da kidz")

this was taken last night after my return from Pantai. babee bought Renee this t-shirt from the BARNEY MUSICAL CONCERT at KLCC. eversince then she has been wearing it day and night...

i drew something like that while chatting with a.AM (just to irritate her) on MSN 2 days ago, but with 5 toes. she corrected me by saying "i think that fella has only 3 toes la". so, just to prove her right and observant (perhaps, she is also starting to like the Yucky Purple Dino like a.Sue) i took this pic for her.

babee told me last night that he will bring us to watch Barney again next year! yea...yea!!! with sailo too?

a YAP hot from the oven...

i called a.sandy as early as 9am to find out what time she will be giving birth, but her line was off. minutes later the proud father of TWO smsed

Sandy just gave birth a baby boy to me & family this morning! is huge! 8.2lb!

immediately a.AM, a.IS, a.Sue MSN one another and spread the news...the whole afternoon we were deciding what time to go to Pantai and who else to inform. i could not wait to leave work to meet the new Yap!

as the afternoon pass, a.audrey and i chatted several times to plan for a trip to BKK/Pattaya. babee said we shall leave on 15th Dec for a 5D 4N break just with je-je, baby it is not that we do not want to bring you but, je-je is more sociable and independent. mami will bring you again once you start walking ok... (*wink*)

then a.AM MSN and called to organise for a Music class for all you babies of the same age i.e Jada, Rayern, Reeve, Zoee and Lauren. it falls on a Tuesday afternoon, so mami will have to take time off work to bring you there, which i don't mind at all...anytime is a good time with you!

at 4pm sharp, mami left for TMC to buy diapers (its customary to buy diapers for newborns as its practical and hasslefree). i walked to the cashier with 2 packets of Pampers for NewBorns, as i was about to pay, i changed my mind - brought it back to change for Pampers S and Drypers S...this baby is 8.2lb!!!

i arrived her room, i saw a.sandy on the phone and her SIL next to the baby. i did not congratulate any of them, just approached the lil fella and carried him. one look at him, he doesn't look like an eight pounder. he was so cuuuuute...small, egg shape head as projected by the gynae, he looks exactly like u.johhny so round, thick lips and big nose and his ears is a replica of Johnny's. his left cheek has a clamp mark as the gynae had used a forecep to get him out (settled in too comfortably)...minutes later i MMS both a.AM and a.audrey only to know a.audrey just left and she replied...his name is SCARFACE!

i was there for a good 2 hours acompanying a.sandy, listening to her ordeal and feeding the lil' fella water. as i was carrying him, i had this strong feeling that he was going to poo on me, before i could wrap up those thoughts, he already did! i changed his diapers, wiped the secretion off his penis clean and was shocked to find out that his testicles are actually very heavy and very dark in colour...hahahah..now i know why he weighs 8.2lb!

i took several shots for documentation purposes and for the viewing pleasure of the proud parents.

i recalled - when i visited a.Sue and Ivan in Gleneagles middle of last year, i couldn't keep my eyes of him too, he was chubbier and *bigger* than this lil'Yap and at that instant he pooed on me as well! what's with these babies and their bowel movements?? but Ivan's penis sure did not leave me with such a big impact!

Babee noticed that you stood by yourself on the 9th of Nov at a.audrey’s house, he told me there and then itself, but mami being mami, I did not see it with my own eyes, that’s why I have not blogged it.

Last night as I was preparing you for bed, you refused to change into your pyjamas, so you clanged on to babee like magnet. Then for the first time, I saw babee moving away from you and there you were STANDing firmly on the ground for a few good seconds. Only when you turned back to look at babee, you realized that he was not holding you. So confident you were trying to balance with wide hands. Immediately I wrote it on my phone so I would remember to blog it this morning. i clapped my hands and said, "clever boy", you smiled proudly.

I was just telling babee how tired I was with you after work yesterday, you only wanted me to carry, not even ah-ku or AMD. You were so clingy, so sensitive and manja. Babee said he will be away next week, so ask me to send you back to Mah-Mah, but I don not think that she will be free as a.Herra will be giving birth on the 17th which is in 2 days time…yes! You have another cousin sister to play with!!! yea…yea…


Je-je greeted me with her usual big, fat, cunning, smile; has she eaten my m&m’s from the fridge I thought? No…has she had broken yet another lip stick of mine? I asked her both these questions, her reply was “No La…mami” (frowning her forehead so agitated with my disbelief and distrust in her)

She rolled all over my body, kissed my lips and said the sweetest words under the sun, only for me to find out she had broken the crystal bracelet that ya-ya had bought for her China just the night before. Hah! Hah! Gotcha! I knew something was not right with that continuous sweetness…uncle jeff was right – cunning girl (he didn’t exactly use that term, he said “classic case”, for more details or information on why he called her that, it is published on – http://reneereeve.myblogsite.com)

Je-je left at 8pm with AMD and yaya for dinner, when I asked her where she was going to, she replied dryly – “wan boyfriend la” (look for boyfriend la). Once again, I “kena cha” again by my sugar…

There used to be only 2 of us going for parties and dinners with our friends, but yesterday when we were at Rayern’s, there were 4 of us plus 1 maid from our family. From other families there were a minimum of 3 people plus 1 maid, the heavily pregnant a.sandy will also be joining our beautiful family of FOUR in no time…she is due anytime now…

at any functions or outings, be rest assured she will be the first to grab her camera. She managed to take this full of life picture before Reeve yawns and rub his eyes for sleepiness, although he was already showing symptoms (scratch head)

So as you can imagine how chaotic was the pool party at Rayern’s. Fathers and mothers all dipped in to the pool to hold their babies, kids’ peeed in there and some (Renee) even gargled their mouth with those murky water…oh my!!! Renee, you were F.I.L.O (first in, last out) as opposed to the anti-social Reeve - L.I.F.O (last in, first out). After Reeve went up for his shower, kakak put him to sleep, many aunties complimented on him for sleeping so fast and are not at all distracted by people walking in to use the bathroom.

I showered you and then brought you down to play with Belen (who did not get to swim as she had accidentally ironed her hand in the rollers of the treadmill). Lately, I observed that you have been much closer to Belen as compared to jaylyn, some how you are not so excited to play with Jaylyn anymore. But when mami mentioned “go down to see Belen ok”, you sprung up from the pool to take your shower to be with her. Kids are so fickle minded!!!

While the kids played, the mothers also played – mahjong la!!! Hehehehe….
The dads “cho tai tee”

Occasionally I will turn to check on you, you had jelly without my knowledge, so I took it away as I was afraid that you might choke on it. You drank 100+ but not much…so it was ok. lil’ Jada was so adorable, she wobbled with her fat bum everywhere, she falls at times but regains her composure within seconds. lil’ Rayern too was very cheerful, making heck lot of noise but I think her kakak may not be that cheerful at the end of the day as there was so much of cleaning to do…

Rayern held on to a Barney toy, but a.AM asked me to take it off his hands, before i could lure him in to liking Barney, he threw it off his hands, he understood his mother???

It was until 8pm, Reeve crawled to my feet, I carried him and I won my last game. Reeve picked a “fei” (joker) and put it in his mouth (dirty la boy!!). a. ailyn said his skin is much better now and looking more and more handsome…ka ka ka ka ka…

Lauren is a daring baby, she grabbed Reeve’s shirt and touched his bald head, u.billy said she enjoys his head a lot for each time she sees him, she will touch it. let’s see what else she will grab of my son in 18 years time!!!

We left shortly after 9pm as everyone was exhausted, both you and sailo slept on the way back, but naughty mami had to wake you two up for your nightly private parts wash…

its a Barney sunday!

I couldn’t sleep the entire of last night, some how the image of Barney keeps popping up in my mind…I must be excited to go for the concert…I can’t wait!
I was awaken by Reeve at 7.30am again, but it is ok as I am all ready to go watch my Barney…I woke you and babee and got myself washed and dressed by 8.45. I smsed a.sandy to meet at Chinoz for breakfast. At the breakfast table, both jaylyn and you ran about so happily, both her parents is worried that she will not be able to complete the show. But I assured them that she will, as Barney has strong retaining power. At 10.45 we walked to the KLCC, it was indeed a very long walk. When we got in to the concert hall, it was awesome! the temperature was cooling, the seats were very new and clean plus comfortable. Babee brought jaylyn and I carried you to the first row, but I thought it was too low and so I opted for the higher rows. For the first 30 minutes, both jaylyn’s parents waited outside as they were afraid that jaylyn would start crying and look for them. She didn’t make a sound, all she did was dance and clap hands all the way. You were so surprised to see the real Barney, so for a minute there you were stunned!

After 30 minutes…there was a Merchandising Break so I bought you a t-shirt. I asked why a.sandy was still sitting at the convention center and not go for a walk as she had planned – u.johhny said she is having “contraction”….oh my god!!! Lil’ Johnny wants to watch Barney too???? So I stayed with her for about 20 minutes before going in to watch the finale of the show.

Before going in a CREW passed me a Questionnaire to fill, the questions are:-

1. would you recommend any of your friends to this concert – YES
2. is it worth the price you paid? – YES
3. would you come back again next year – YES

Yes..yes..yes..to all 7 questions…I think I enjoyed the concert more than both jaylyn and Renee because babee keeps looking at me when Barney starts to sing each song, I would jump and clap my hands so hard. I could sing almost all the songs that he performed today…I have never actually liked Barney but I think I am learning to like his songs and watch his shows too…

During the finale, Barney would usually conclude with your favorite song, which is “I LOVE U” …this time he did too, but right before the finale, jaylyn suddenly hit your head 3 times and you cried so loudly…my poor baby girl, you watched the finale with a tears filled face. u.Johnny kept beating her hands, but luckily you did not resent her, infact you said bye-bye to her and kept a poster for her at the car park…that’s my girl!

its a Barney Sunday! (Part 1)

a.Joanne had asked us to go over to her house for pot-luck on coming Sunday. I agreed to cook “kali kai”, not that mami is good at cooking curry but I just felt like contributing something that is cooked whole-heartedly. So this special Saturday morning, AMD, je-je and I went to Pudu pasar to buy “malai kai” (kampung chicken) and other ingredients for the cooking. I cannot wait to go home to start my rendez-vous with the “kai”. The minute I reached home, I marinated the “kai”, chopped the onions, peeled the potatoes and measured the curry power…

I was at the stove for a near 1 half hours until completion. I looked into the pot and tasted a bit of the gravy – not as spicy as the ones I cooked before but its ok as uncle billy and Johnny cannot take too spicy food I thought…next I checked on you babies, both still sleeping soundly as I would expect…

At night, I brought the kali kai over to a.AM’s house to store as I will be at the Barney Musical Concert tomorrow morning with je-je, just in case the show runs late and I don’t have time to rush home to fetch it. We went for dinner with Rayern first before heading to his house. You were smiling at Rayern and looks to me like you were trying to strike a conversation with him too by using your baby language skills. After dinner, you babies played at Rayern’s “within the home playground”, had so much of fun crawling and screaming until you rubbed your eyes and I brought you up to a.AM’s room to sleep.

Je-je spilled some water near the table and when mami scolded her, she pointed her finger at Rayern…uncle jeff noticed and he said she is so cunning…now we know why jaylyn always gets all the scolding from u.johhny. Renee…cannot hah!

We left at 12am and when I reached home, I put both you kids to sleep while I packed for tomorrow’s itinerary i.e. swimming trunks, towel, extra clothing, lotion and etc…I couldn’t sleep the entire night, some how the image of Barney keeps popping up in my mind…I am so excited to go for the concert…I can’t wait!

i have always refered to myself as Janie Chan and never Janie Yap or "Yip Tai" (Mrs Yap).
AMD, yaya, ah-ku, ah-yee and the rest of the Chans and Ngs refers to me as "B-GAL". it has been like that since day 1 right up till today even when i have 2 kids, uncle Richard (li-ku or 2nd uncle) still shouts from a far to me as "B-gaaaaaal". i do not mind the nickname at all, infact i feel very attached and pamperred when called by that name...

"how did he adopt this strange name? - good question!
when i was 7 or 8 years old (can't remember), yaya used to own a few horses, one of them is "Banarbee". Banarbee is fat, not much of a use, have not won any race at all for yaya, all he did was sleep and incur costs...so ah-ku thought i looked a bit like Banarbee...so the name!

it was late last night when my sugar-coated daughter calls out for "mami", i was playing hide & seek with her, she called a few times "mami", then as she was still searching for me, she called
"Janie Chan Yap"...i resisted my laughter, still behind a cupboard, she called out again - this time a pro-long "Bbbbbbbbb-Gal"

i frowned/flat lips and waited patiently for her to find me, she turned to AMD who was busy applying night cream:-

Renee: "ah-mi darleng, B-gal leh, kui hai pin tou ah?" (where is B-gal, where is she?)
AMD: "ng chee wo, lei hui wan kui la, lei joi kiu B-gal la" (don't know, you go look for her, call out that name again)
Renee: "B-gal, mami, Janie Chan Yap"

Mami: cannot tahan my laughter anymore, bursted out laughing and ran out to cuddle my sugar-coated daughter - "Sugar, mami is here"
Renee: "hah, B-gal hai tou wo..." (hah...B-gal is here wo)

God knows when she will surprice me by calling me "banarbee"...

aunt audrey invited us for her 30th birthday at Yap Kwan Seng, unfortunately Renee was out with Michelle and AMD, so we brought Reeve along as it was coincidentally his birthday as well. he was wide awake till 10.40pm.

Happy 1st Birthday + 4th Wedding Anniversary

My sweet boy, you are officially 1 today! Not only that you are 1, mami and babee is also 4 today! I mean we are 4 years married from the day we celebrated with our friends and exchanged our vows in JW Marriott KL. The memories still seems so clear especially the bit where the dimmed wedding hall was lit up in candle blocks with fresh flowers around it beside the isles…

Then, I gained a husband and now 4 years down the road I have also gained 2 other lovely irreplaceable children. What more can I asked for?

little shoes

i came across this litle pair of shoes when Reeve was just about 2 months old. it was at a very affordable price and the only pair left that was white and blue, the rest was baby blue. without much hesitation, i bought 3 pairs - 1 white & blue, 1 baby blue and 1 more brown suede.

as we were leaving for nelson's place again for dinner last night, i slipped it round his feet, it fell off after a few kicks. this may not be the first time he is wearing it, but it is the first time i wore it with socks to secure the shoe from falling without my knowledge...

i can't help but to try to take pictures from different angles while he was asleep. aunt sue and her SIL#2 ask why i was so busy? i replied, pictures are more important mah! kekekeke....

Reeve's BigDay!

Babee insisted to go for his weekly gym workout at The Curve, a.AM happens to call me for breakfast then, so mami brought je-je and you along. At the restaurant, I was asked if I could take care of both you kiddos and I courageously said Yes!

We walked in to the mall and you were crying sleepiness again, you rubbed your eyes and accidentally scratched it – the skin around your eyes swelled and it looked terribly bad. a.AM assured me if I let you sleep now, it would be ok later, we washed your eyes with Rayern’s drinking water and quickly pat you to sleep. Je-je was self-entertaining, she played at the machine car area and hopped from one to another, she always know when to do the right things (at times) while mami carried a 10kg baby round and round trying to comfort him to sleep… when babee came out from the gym, he asked if I had dropped you again? (i am reputable for that is it?) on the way back you slept and so I placed you to sleep while we change and bath je-je…

On the way to collect your cake, I felt as if I was going for a hot date or to meet a new boyfriend…it was that exciting to see your cake> I got in and the minute I laid eyes on the cake – I was flabbergasted! I was speechless for a while with my jaws wide opened when I saw the cuppas. There were all in all 20 cupcakes each carrying either Pokemon, Garfield, Mickey or other characters that is not from my era. Mami supposedly order for Sesame Street characters, but Pamela Jones called me at around 11am to say that the cake shop that sells these accessories have been closed since last week due to Raya…silly mami forgot to give her your name too…only last minute she added that in (and I call aunty Joanne amnesia..hahahaha)

We arrived Bangsar Village at 2.15pm and I brought you in to Gymboree thinking that they will let you 2 in early, still have to wait till15 to 3. all your friends arrived punctually and the gym started with a big smile – my boy is S.M.I.L.I.N.G!!!! you had so much fun, you rolled the cylinders and sat on the slides, a.AM took some nice pictures for us while mami view – cam the excitement. The babies were mostly scattered but we managed to compile them to play some pushing and rolling game with the help of the “tai kah cheh” (big sister) – R.E.N.E.E. She ordered the kids to be at one corner and then we started but not for long till they got distracted…

At Nandos, everyone enjoyed the chicken meal (atleast I know u.jeff and a.sandy did)...we cut the cake before you slept, initially you cried when we placed you on Lauren’s rubbery chair, but then when mami held you close, you were at ease. I did not know how to cut the cake, as it was just too beautiful to be eaten. Even the uncles came to ask where I got it from and how much and all…the kids were so eager to get a cupcake each, a.AM just wanted to EAT, a.sandy TOO and some had 3 rounds of the orange sponge cake. I think for je-je’s birthday I shall order this again (ok Joanne?) but I am skeptical as I do not want to hassle people again in to another birthday party, you know the gifts and all…I don’t know if I should do it, well, we will see, maybe a small one…

After that I did not remember much, I ate, you slept, je-je sliding and babee entertaining…the entire duration, I know I neglected je-je, she was mostly playing with jaylyn and ivan. I checked on her from time to time, but no hugs or kisses as I was, to be honest concern of your swollen eyes. But one thing I know, I heard your laughter and I know I did admire you from far when I was out smoking with the uncles.

Left around 6pm, got home, settled down, put you to sleep and I decided to open the presents with je-je and MM. at 8pm, we changed and went to watch Zorro!!!

Came back after the movie, I saw je-je still awake, I made a point to give her a huge, tight hug and many kisses to compensate for the day. I apologised to her for neglecting her, she nodded and continued playing with the toys – by the way, she has claimed possessions of those presents!

1st Birthday for JADA

We came back from Melaka today to attend Jada's 1st birthday party, we were late but still managed to come in before many guests did

Jada greeted us with her ever famous - big fat smile! She wobbled her way out with a Donald Duck bum, so heavy and round. You were not yourself today, I brought you in to see the clown but you were frightened by it instead. You cried for a prolong period, sailo was still sleepy from the flu medication given to him the day before – poor boy slept throughout the day…

You only regained composure after u.billy and a.audrey arrived, he carried and threw you up and down and you were all yourself again! Mami did not take any pictures with the birthday girl neither did you two. I suppose I was trying to recuperate from the hectic week that had just rampant us. We stayed for less than 2 hours and left for home to place both you babies in bed.
Jada cut her birthday cake specially made by her poh-poh, she was so steady and camera friendly as if she had anticipated for this day and occasion to come by for a long-long time. (I just hope that sailo will be as steady and smiley too tomorrow)

At night we met up with the usual gang of aunties and uncles for YTF (yong tau foo) at Aman Suria and headed for a relaxing game of mahjong with u.gary at the Yap’s, leaving a.christine to entertain you kiddos. You were suppose to follow ya-ya to Sunway Palace but because you were sleeping in the car, so we brought you along to rayern’s house where you refused to leave. He kept disturbing you when you drank your milk, he placed a soft toy on you face, then tickle you and crawling away when you react…so funny (I couldn’t concentrate on my mahjong)
At one point, you wanted to poo-poo, so you wrapped yourself under the portable mattress and asked to be left alone, but lil’ persistent rayern kept “ahhh-agggghhhhh” at you. You chased him off, so did a.christine and his mummy. Hahahaha….

As we were driving home, so many things ran through my head –

- Is sailo’s cake going to turn out beautifully as in the pictures?
- Is he going to be a drowsy and cranky as today?
- Will he be sleeping at the time the cake is supposed to be cut?
- Are the children going to enjoy the gym or is it going to bore them?

DepaRaya

Renee this is your 3rd Divali and Hari Raya with us, as for Reeve, it is your 2nd. last year on the 9th Nov i was in the hospital inducing you and on the 11th Nov as we were about to leave the hospital, i saw journalists asking if there is a Deepavali baby born in this hospital (indians only). that is how i remember you were born 2 days before Divali.

this year, we spent our Divali at home waiting for babee to return from China. on the first day of Raya, we left for Melaka to meet a.AM, and the rest of the PowerDrive gang at a'farmosa. unfortunately, mami was down with flu and mild fever, so we did not get to see much of the Animal Safari or any other shows available there. the second day, still feverish, but because MM had pestered me since 9am to bring you all to the pool, so at 2pm, we arrived at the pool. initially a.AM was swimming with you together with kakak, MM and Sam. but then somehow i heard you calling for me and i thought since i was there...what the heck! screw the fever, so i plunged in too. although the water was horrendously filthy, but we managed to have lots of fun. you wanted to play "mami coming" (cathing game that a.AM had invented to play with RAYERN)

that night we had portugese for dinner - an excellent meal! our entire family and Powerdrive on the other side. at the end of the dinner, when we were about to pay, a.AM said her dad had ask to pay for us too - Thank You again!

after dinner, short walk at Jonker Walk, saw some cute toys, hair clips and ended up having Cendol at one of the stalls. RESULT: DELICIOUS! one of the best cendol i have ever had, the Gula Melaka was so thick and non sweet. we left early for home as Reeve was not feeling too well, he had running nose and slight fever too just like me...poor boy! Renee, you were facinated with the Ketupat Lanterns on the streets...
