reneeisamokey is 3!!!

Nowadays when I embrace your forehead or cheeks, i feel that i do not have to bend down all the way like before or like when i am embracing Reeve. Each day after I am done kissing you, i looked up and realised you have grown taller from yesterday. Not only that, you speak more today then yesterday, you run faster than yesterday. You can reach for things that are deeper in the closet and can take longer leaps.

My..my..my Renee sugarpie has longer legs and hands because she has grown into a small lady. Little Ms Lady is THREE today and when mami look back, i feel that I have missed so much of your growing ups either while I was at work or while I was away. Just a few months ago, I thought I saw you lying on the bed measuring 70 over centimeter, i asked babee "when will she start to walk?"

Look at you now...

That is why every now and then mami will tend to yearn for another baby girl to fit in to those beautiful dresses and bikinis you once worn and also to conquer more hearts. Let's hope my wish will come true...From where i come from people do not celebrate their birthdays as it is the bloodiest day for the mothers, but what the heck! You have brought me more joy and happiness than anythingelse I have ever had...so Have a Fabulous Birthday My Sweetest!

lil kakak

i brought in a few pair of pants for sailo to change to see which compliments his shirt. so, i have decided to wear the khaki/red bermudas, as i was wearing it for him at one side of the bed, i noticed renee a.k.a the lil kakak folding the other pants and shirts which i had earlier chosen but lastly not worn for reeve.

she folded one by one and stacked them up, categorising pants, shirts and even babee's boxers and my pyjamas????

i praised her and shyly she smiled, turned to sailo and asked "je-je is your kakak ah?" he gave out a loud laugh.

i must say the folding is as good as mine, almost symetrical from all edges and neatly pressed to release extra air trapped in between. Not bad for a 3 year old!

From Joanne with LOVE

A.Joanne the always thoughtful/considerate/accomodating/prudent/discreet friend/aunt/MIL has done this for the both of you. I was prompted by her 3 times yesterday over MSN to check her blog. Initially there was one with writings and all the kids, then she posted another one and then another one with a birthday cake, lastly, this was published an hour later. I particularly fancy this piece as it clearly shows the difference in both the cake and myself. One is for Reeve and the other is for Renee.
Cheers to you and Thank you again!!!
(for those of you who do not know her, all the adjectives above truly describes her but based on primafacie, she was snobbish, arrogant and uninviting)

Cornered!

We arrived a.AM's house at 8pm, there was a.IS and a.Sandy and ying2 present. You coolly walked in to the house to greet a.AM. Later you asked a.IS where is u.Gary? But somehow it took you quite sometime to recall her name and finally when you did, you called her a.Kistin.

The mothers played mahjong for the entire 2 hours, a.IS sat to watch. You rode with ying2, argued and even fought at one point, but instead of fighting physically, you hit me with a drum stick. I cornered you and noone was to help or look at you. After 4mins or more, you calmed down and walk back to sit yourself on the sofa. Then you looked more civilised.

We left shortly after 10.30pm

Sailo, you have been pampering mami lately, each time i feed you cookies, you would put one in my mouth first then only yourself. When you see me lying on the bed, you would walk over to lye down on my stomach.

Lately, you have also been snatching toys from je-je, that is not good you know sweetheart? But you are still young, so mami just smack your hand lightly and when I do, you look at me and gives me the flat mouth look and smack your own hand yourself. Each time I do that, je-je will shield you, she holds your head close to her heart and kisses it, she loves hugging you from behind as if she was carrying you.

Your sis is a tough cookie to crack, i believe she will be an excellent sister cum mentor. I can foresee her protecting you at school when you are being bullied and you standing up for her when she sneaks out for clubbing at night.

Full of love,
mami

Learn with me

Reeve, you have been learning quick these days. Whenever, you see je-je or any of us talking, moving or dancing, you will just mimic us right a way. You dance to most beats by swinging your head, hands, legs and body, you laughed loud when the music stops. You mumble words and you look at the person you are talking to with much effort to try to push those words out. 70% failure rate though. Lately, you incorporate talking with hands actions to attract ones attention towards you, most audiences would applaud and say "clever boy Reeve!" with the acception of yaya, who says "chun chu pau, ng sek kong yea" (silly piglet, cannot talk yet) yes...i know its not very motivating and nice, but he is just trying to irritate you or in his own believes - reverse psycology. Does it work? ....a little

This morning you woke up early, so I brought you down to chew on some biscuits while I prepared breakfast for babee and myself. While I was cutting the sausages, Kakak Eko was disturbing you and you mummbled "naughty girl" pointing at her...she laughed and asked you "you called me naughty girl?" your reply was "hmmm...naughty girl" - This time with a stearner look. It was so cute!!!, I wished I had recorded it or something, but its never too late...mami is still patiently waiting for your other words.

Love you both sugars...

Self-Sleep?

I have been trying to train you to Self-Sleep. Je-je does it very well, she will be placed in my room to watch Barney or nothing at all, then I will tell her that I am going downstairs to complete whatever i was doing. She will usually acknowledge me by nodding. After 30mins, she will usually doze off.

Last night after coming back from dinner with the usual gang of aunties and uncles, i placed you on the bed to wipe your KKJ (kuku-jioa). Your eyes opened wide after coming into contact with the damp towel, but good thing was you didn't struggle. I fed you a bottle of milk and left you on your bed to self-sleep while i attended to je-je. You got down from your bed twice to play with your toys which are placed under your bed, but i tucked you in again each time you wonder off. You did put up a fight with me initially but after a few rounds, you gave in and quietly lie there for a approximately 3minutes and finally turn to the side and slept. Voila! c'est tres bon!

It motivates me to do it again tonight. This morning you woke up at 8am and first thing you did was got down of bed and played with your cars...boys will be boys...

A Walk down Memory Lane

at work today, i received a call from a private number, i was greeted by a guy on the other end with a strong American accent. it was Paul! aunt Elaine's hubby..Paul!

they are back from New York again, we agreed to meet up for dinner and after hanging up, i realised that it has been a year since I last saw them. time flies. we went to Mum's PLace for dinner with aunty June together with your second cousins Mark and Jamie. you guys had a ball of a time there, running about, laughing and toasting away with water.

aunt Elaine keeps saying that you are so adorable and fair, uncle Paul was surprised to see that you have grown so much. they asked about sailo, but unfortunately, it was pouring cats and dogs when we were about to leave the house. after dinner, we returned to a.june's beautiful Perdana Emerald apartment. we sipped wine and chatted about our childhood together at ah-ma's (your tai-ma) old mansion. it has brought back many wonderful memories, the reminiscent made me feel remorse on why I had not turned in to Taman Desa to see the last of her that late afternoon before she decided to leave us. (turn left to go in to Taman Desa, but i went straight, thought I should pick you and sailo up and go later in the evening to see her, when i reached home, walked up the stairs, AMD in a shaky voice mummbled "nooi-nooi hui jo ler". why AMD called her nooi-nooi? its because ah-ma like AMD and myself is an extreme VAIN POT, so she is referred to as nooi-nooi meaning girl-girl in English or looi-looi in Cantonese...In other words, still young!)

we wrapped up close to midnight, you were tired, you were grumpy but still insisted that I put on Narnia.

Christine Weds Gary

Subang Jaya
it was a long anticipated day, both a.am and i were at a.is house as early as 8.30am. we were one of the earliest "chi muis". u.alex's face was so lethargic from the previous night out with the groom. u.gary and the "heng tais" arrived at around 9.30am, a.avvy told us that the tricks were easy, no nasty food to eat, no special concocion to drink. so, the groom managed to get his bride with one poem to read and some coke to drink. a.am followed the newly weds down to ampang, but mami had to take babee's car from Sunway, so we didn't follow.

Kota Damansara
i arrived a.am's house at 2pm, but we only left for CyberView at 4.15pm. on the way there both a.am and i prayed that the dark clouds would go away and come back another day coz lil' christine wants to play...it stayed and it breeded and it got bigger and wilder...yes! we were dissapointed as we know a.is really is hoping badly for a garden wedding. later, she mentioned to her wedding planner - Jason that she would go ahead even if it drizzles.

CyberView Lodge
we flung the room door open to find a fairly comfortable and green looking room, then a.am exclaimed from behind me "SHIT! I forgot to bring my heels"...oh oh...so immediately we resolved it by calling her mummy to bring from home. then she forgot her hairdryer, but we also managed to find one under the table, so now that is solved...after we changed, u.jeff couldn't find his suit....hmmmm *sratched head*...she left that at home too?? but thank god u.jeff did not loose his cool, infact he laughed and called his wife a silly...(she is one, you know...)

Garden Wedding
we were urshered into a function room next to the garden where the couple exchanged their vows. by then the garden was extremely wet and drenched. a.am's mummy arrived shortly after the that with her heels, then only she started walking with confidence. lil' rayern changed into his tuxedo there, he looked so adorable.

The Wedding
The ballroom was beautifully and tasfully decorated with fresh flowers cum the smell of newly cut leaves was overwhelming. During the dinner, all the aunties were so nicely dressed (pictures later), we kept taking pictures and walking around to make people notice us...hahaha. Babee only arrived at 10 and everyone started drinking after that. A.Audrey, u.Billy, a.Julie, u.Simon, A.AM. u.Jeff and us stayed back at the ballroom to drink till 2am. By then a.IS and u.Gary had already returned to their bridal suite. We had so much of fun, joking, drinking and "playing"..it was simply unforgettable!

Overall, you know the wedding is a success when all your friends had enjoyed themselves so much. Lastly, we wish the both a.Christine and u.Gary - A Wonderful Life Ahead!

A Gala!

On the last day of the year, we were once again invited to the Teh’s residence in wherelse but the memorable and auspicious Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. It was drizzling again just like Christmas Eves. This time there were less people and the group was more focused. When we arrived, u.jeff pointed at your top and said “wah! santa –rina in Chinese costume wo”(you wore Santa hat with a piece of red Chinese top teamed with jeans and black patent shoes). You said Hi to everyone and then clang on to a.audrey and Lauren like glue. Rayern was so happy to see you, he gave his usual “grin” and you two just started mingling with one another.

Mrs Teh ushered us to have our dinner - I took 2 pieces of lamb, 1 big scoop of mash potato, hokkien mee and 1 6cm by 15cmUdang Gala - Thus the name A GALA! Mrs Teh is undeniably one of the best cook for Western cuisine (amongst all our mums) and a.am’s mummy is for the Hakka Food Department. The udang was so succulent, the lamb was tender and juicy, the hokkien mee was soaked in thick aromatic broth. After the hefty cum guilty meal, we chatted for a while and then made a move slightly before 11pm. We thanked everyone of the Teh’s except for the invitor…how rude? A.audrey was preparing Lauren for bed and we only managed to pass the “Thank you so much” to u.billy.

Before we set off to Mont Kiara for the countdown, you gave Rayern a goodbye kiss on the mouth, at first he just enjoyed and solemnly concealed it under his cheeky smile. But after much teasing, he refused your second and third kisses…

Mami sent you to Rasa Sayang Restaurant to be with AMD and yaya. They were so happy to see you, so was everyone else. Babee and I arrived Mont Kiara 35 mins before midnight and we got home before two. I didn’t enjoy the countdown, as the place was just too smoky…I sipped water throughout…I sat from 2005 till 2006…

MY 2005 - mssed out June

June 2005 - Babee brought Renee to the cinema for the first time - we watched "Madagascar". je-je was making so much of noice, not winging, but asking alot of questions like "mami, lion ngawww (roar) ah? "giraffe neck very long wo", she was drinking and munching non-stop...she tapped on the person in front's shoulder and gave him/her a scare! thank god we were not watching JU-ON, if not, the person in front would have died of heart attack.

MY 2005

January 05 - We celebrated je-je's 2nd birthday at Burger King, she had a Red Sports Car cake

February 05 - Your first Chinese New Year with us, you were so chubby and fat then, you were exactly 3 mths old on "lien cho yat" (1st day of CNY)

April 2005 - Reeve always so cheerful, Renee always supporting him. Each has a dimple on one side

May 2005 - Celebrated the birth of Lauren Tang, first time the crowd sees Reeve since CNY..wow, he has grown so much!!!

June 2005 - You started eating so much of Gerber food, at one go - half a pack

August 2005 - We celebrated your first Merdeka, jeje was shouting Merdeka and running around in Hartamas Japanese Rest.

September 2005 - shortly after that, it was ya-ya's birthday, a week long eating feast. Ah Kung called you "speedy gonzalez" as you maneuvered so well in those wheels

November 2005 - A String of events...first it was Jada's birthday, then it was yours together with a.Audrey and a.Reena at Nandos, Bangsar Village and at Yap Kwan Seng. A week later, Yap JayDen was born and the day after Michelle Noeri Yap. The following week, we celebrated u.hoezi's birthday. You stood up by yourself on the 9th of Nov, by the end of the month you were already walking without much assistance

December 2005 - Mami brought jeje to Bangkok on my birthday, we had Christmas at YKS and New Years too. You started walking very fast, then run when chased. On the last day of the year MM jeje turned 13, she spent her birthday baby sitting you. She said you walked out of her room to get into mami's room to pick your bolster and then walked back there to sleep next to her...so adorable. That same day you called "Reee nee".
